"The First Hotel Le Bleu Reviews Are In" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-13 05:40:38

Here you have it: the first three traveler reviews on for 4th Avenue's new Hotel Le Bleu. The ratings are a bit all over the place. With 5 being the highest score. Le Bleu managed to get a 3. 4 and 5 in its first month. One of a handful of new hotels to have opened for business in the last few months here in Brooklyn. Le Bleu seems to be ahead of its neighborhood: a super trendy boutique hotel right next to a Staples and Pep Boys on one side and a taxi garage on the other. As one guest wrote: "One day this "Hip" hotel will be in a "Hip" neighborhood as well" but the day has not quite arrived yet. All agree the rooms are wonderful and clean, but the common area is non-existent and the check-in,well a disaster according to one guest. Read the reviews below:From Amit45. Washington DC Rating: 3Hotel opened up last week. Nice crisp and clean. Got a great deal at hotel com as a special basically 40% less that Manhattan hotel. Location: a few subway stops from Manhattan. If you are comfortable with the Subway this is a good option. The next street over is also a very nice part of Brooklyn with some cafes etc... The street looks a bit industrial but the location is good. Rooms: Nice clean rooms. I think it is trying to be super hip and urban chic too much in my opinion. But overall decent rooms and a decent size. Common Area: Basically none. The lobby is very small and there were no other facilities. Staff: Although nice and trying to be helpful the staff at check-in was a disaster. They are very far from being as polished as the hotel would like to bill itself. Ex is getting wrong room type sending us to wrong room after correction taking 40 minutes to check in etc... This aspect needs tons of work. Also need to learn how to properly talk to guests when problems arise. Hopefully given more time they can improve. Overall if you have time to check-in and don't mind being a few Subway stops from Manhattan this is a good option. If given a comparable price in Manhattan however. I would prefer Manhattan hotels. From gomo42 Rating: 4My family and I stayed in Brooklyn for the first time and opted to stay at Hotel Le Bleu. The hotel is located in an up and coming neighborhood. There really is no where to walk outside of the hotel. There is alot of construction going on outside of the hotel as well. Once you are on 4th Ave where it is located you will see it. The hotel is the only real "skyrise" with balconies. Beware there is no vallet parking but they have a parking lot and garage. Everyone at the front deck was very helpful. The doorman was the most helpful he greeted us in the parking lot carried our bags and got us some maps of Brooklyn and told us about the surrounding area. The lobby is very small. just a desk and three elevators which leads you to your room. The room was spectacular and very clean. We got the double bed room so we did not have a great view. If you get the Elite King room you should have a view of Manhattan. We had a large balcony. A huge flatscreen television and a Bose cd player and I-Pod docker. The hotel was very quiet during the night. The front desk was very helpful with getting us taxis since there are not as many in Brooklyn. The man at the front desk. Lameek was also very helpful. He helped us find a nice place to eat in Brooklyn Heights and even printed out the restaurant menu so we could see what it had to offer. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar so there is not much to do in the hotel. So if you have a day packed with events and want to come back to a nice relaxing hotel this hotel is for you! One day this "Hip" hotel will be in a "Hip" neighborhood as well. From meekd. Austin Texas. Rating: 5I was on a last-minute trip to lower Manhattan and there was no availability for any decent hotels. Found Hotel Le Bleu and decided to take a risk on an unknown and was totally blown away. The hotel is 15 minutes by R train from Wall St. and the rooms were every bit as visually pleasing and clean as a W. I'm definitely planning on staying again. "Hotel Le Bleu Reviews Trickle In" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 14:42:19

Guests who’ve stayed at 4th Avenue’s pricey during its first month of operation undergo started posting about their experiences on and their ratings as notes are “all over the map.” The three reviews on the travel site give the hotel a 3. 4 and 5 (with 5 being the highest possible rating). One guest “was totally blown away. The hotel is 15 minutes by R train from Wall St. and the rooms were every bit as visually pleasing and alter as a W.” Another however was a little less satisfied: “I think it is trying to be super hip and urban chic too much in my opinion…the cater at check-in was a disaster. They are very far from being as polished as the hotel would like to bill itself.” comfort not a bad batch of reviews for a property that some have dubbed “Hotel Le ordain.” Le Bleu’s currently shows rates starting at $270 a night. [Pardon Me For Asking] Oh my gosh. I can't act up. Is there really a conceive of hotel amidst the degenerate stores and general blight of Fourth Avenue? But but how can that be? I convey look at the picture. It makes Fort Lee be like the French Riviera. I love Le Bleu! It's a great addition to 4th Ave (and on the Gowanus side yay!). I wish them the beat of luck (I'm a neighbor) . it always takes a few months to get the cater in shape and get the systems drink. People have lost their minds. Anyone paying to be in a hotel onFourth Avenue is too lame for words. Do the rooms go with sex workers? There has to be some draw. Do you get free bodywork on your car? New tires?Unbelievable!!! Other posers are not looking out solely for the real estate interests of some neighbor who owns a shithole come Fourth avenue and thinks the new hotel is going to make him the next annoy Helmsley. I really can't understand populate who talk negatively about things they either don't know anything about or simply just to do for fun it would be. So 10:32 - who are they looking out for; refurbished tire salesmen? I wish Le color had the parking in the approve. I desire that Le color and the other developers displace for more streetscaping and I hope that the bar restaurant is great but overall its certainly a net positive over what was there (plumbing supply warehouse) and anyone who hopes for its failure is probably just practicing Schadenfreude wrapped up in fake nostaglia and phoney 'keeping it real' Hey 'Mr Nipped',Let me ask you a question: If you booked this hotel from out of town at these prices and arrived to sight the wonderful surroundings of 4th ave would you be so chipper? Honestly this photo says it all. I'm all for the development of 4th ave. It's a pit,(great place to find good prices on tires) but gratify don't be so agressively alter. I'm pretty indifferent to this hotel other than to express emotion a little every measure I pass by and construe the name. There's something utterly ridiculous about a Hotel Le Bleu -- at any location but especially where it actually is. The taxi-depot / bodyshop posts are as clueless as they are predictable. In fact yes clearly people are paying hundreds a night to stay near a taxi depot etc. and hundreds of thousands to own condos near them and populate are going to restaurants and bars come them--and all of that means eventually the taxi depots and bodyshops are going to be gone. It may not be Park Avenue but it'll be a sell and residential take. I don't get why that upsets populate so much. change state you can drive another avenue drink to get your flat tire fixed. @10:48: Well considering that the reviews of the hotel be 'all over the displace' from a 3 to a 5 (out of 5) the actual guests are apparently not so annoyed about the surroundings. http://www tripadvisor com/Hotel_Review-g60827-d650459-Reviews-Hotel_Le_Bleu-Brooklyn_New_York html hmm. 10:48 masking bitterness as "I'm just protecting the tourists" .. strange very strange. Who's the blind one? I welcome all new condo owners (Novo. lie etc.) to the 'hood! Ignore the haters. It's a 3 minute go to color Ribbon Sushi on 5th Avenue. Pacific Standard Bar and about 100 other shops restaurants in the neighborhood.. many new ones opening every month in fact. populate who just create verbally this off becuase it's on 4th avenue haven't been to 4th avenue in the last 2 years. My biggest complaint is the (ugly) parking lot up lie. The hotel gives nothing to the neighborhood aesthetically. Besides if the taxi depot and health center are torn down they will be replaced by large condos facing the avenue. That will leave LeBleu oddly recessed and the shadows. I evaluate it had to be recessed for zoning.. no hotels allowed flush on an Avenue lot line. I agree it would have been exceed to undergo landscaping in front and parking underneath or in back though. It wouldn't be my first choice as a pass hot sight but considering the fact that there are virtually no hotels in an area that holds millions of people (Brooklyn) its nice that there is at least an alternative to the Marriott on Jay St. 10:20 poses the challenge that I am constantly asking myself. I can't figure out why populate want this hotel and on a larger measure. Brooklyn itself to disappoint. There's a certain set of people who seem incredibly bitter about any new development. Maybe if we create verbally more tired snarky stuff we can still make this thing tank. And what's with B'stoner/Gabby continually referring to the hotel as 'pricey' when in the next breath they are fawning about some $3.2 million bronestone that's 2-3 blocks/5 minute walk away. No. I'm not a developer hotelier broker condo dweller brownstone owner and undergo no particular agenda. The zoning is reason the design. Send a earn to your local city council member. There is simply NO RATIONAL REASON why the west side of Fourth Avenue is comfort zoned M1-2. This is a relic from Brooklyn now gone for almost a half century. can i ask.. it seems that most new yorkers constantly complain about the disney-fication of new york and dislike that there is nothing rough or original about it anymore.. so why is it when we have a rougher area people cast aside it and wish it were lined with starbucks and duane reades??? Nipper it's not that we're rooting for a new hotel to disappoint just because it's sandwiched between a taxi depot and a dialysis center on a godforsaken hideous four-lane highway of hell. We're snarking our brains out because it is EXPENSIVE and PHONY-FRENCHIFIED and PRETENTIOUSLY 'ARCHITECTURAL' while sandwiched between a.. blah blah blah. Got it? The Le Bleugh is FUNNY in a way that the poor pass Inn squatting ingloriously opposite the dead-gangta-mural and flat-fix shop can never be funny because it is paradoxical. The fact (apparently it is a fact) that Eurotrash hipsters will simply love it is even funnier. We are Brooklynites hon--can't nip us in the bud once we get started not on something this good. I hope this place is a success it ordain go the transformation of the "wild wild west" avenue. Disregard the nay sayers they are born losers who can not see the big picture. Rates STARTING at $270/night??? RIP-OFF!! furnish me a f*#king end. That's what the beam Hotel on the UWS costs you. And what a difference in location and street appeal. If the Le Bleu's rates were cheaper maybe populate wouldn't be commenting on its less-than-scenic locale. Ridiculous. RIP-OFF!!!!!! I checked out their website the bar/restaurant "on the eighth and ninth floors" (rooftop?) opens in Spring 2008. I anticipate it won't be too hard to finding a go to go home after dinner. Good points all. But you forgot to add: .. and we're kind of ticked off because we realize that five years from now all of Fourth Avenue ordain be expensive and pretentious and phony-Frenchified. should be called hotel aieuls because this place will get fat off the grandparents visiting their children's PS 321 kids -- a constituency large enough to support 5 of these fleabags it looks like the motel in seaside NJ where I banged a hooker after my high school graduation yeah it beats an alter lot but what an eyesore. You may undergo found a special but dwell rates in Manhattan are out of this world. The populate looking to stay at The beam and those looking to stay in Brooklyn at Hotel Le Bleu are not the same. It's describing two entirely different demographics. For a couple coming over from Berlin for a week. 270 DOLLARS a night is not a whole lot of money. And from what I can tell. 5th Avenue on the weekends are like 25% populate from Germany/Ireland/Amsterdam or London. The nipster is in the Hugo Chavez school of promoting remove discussion. All who do not agree with him are unpatriotic losers. I think the nipster is off his meds and I evaluate he is the only one writing positive blogs about his eyesore rip-off hotel in one of the ugliest parts of the Boro. Hey Brenda. You're right putting that hotel on a highway of hell was a bad idea. They should have built it on the command of 3rd Street and 6th Avenue. You would undergo loved it then as would the neighborhood. PS populate be amenities including places for visitors to be but DON'T PUT THEM NEAR MY PRECIOUS BROWNSTONE OR TREE-LINED BLOCK! You're desire wicked smaaht.. you made a political compose in your post. Too bad you are a dead do by unpatriotic loser. Long live the Revolution (of 4th Avenue)!!! Sorry. 12:46 but maybe your parents got a suite or booked on a sold-out night. These are the current rates (copied and pasted from their website):Single Rooms $220 - $295manifold Rooms $235 - $325Suite $295 - $550 I booked 4 nights for extended family and their rate was 250/night on Broadway not next to a tire shop and garage. The Le Bleu's rates are ridiculous hence the comments on its location. You obviously undergo not stayed in an upscale Manhattan or Brooklyn hotel recently. This is quite a value actually. To the people who are thinking this hotel will be filled with PS321 Grandparents - I doubt it - The bathrooms are separated from the main rooms solely by GLASS. The vast majority of 321 PARENTS shouldn't be that comfortable with their nudity so I have serious doubts that the Grandparents will apply staying in rooms like this. IMHO this hotel's success and failure depends largely on the ability of the rooftop restaurant and bar to create a 'scene' in an area that (despite plenty of $) is far from hip. "IMHO this hotel's success and failure depends largely on the ability of the rooftop restaurant and bar to create a 'scene' in an area that (despite plenty of $) is far from hip." It WILL succeed simply because hotel rooms in NYC are at a premium. The fact that Manhattan hotels are always heavily booked has spurred this sort of development and it ordain change magnitude as years go by. So get used to it. September 7. 2007"Le Bleus website now shows them beginning at $365..." November 5. 2007"the Gowanus hotel’s prices (which start at $306 a night)..." December 4. 2007"Le Bleus website currently shows rates starting at $270 a night..." The nipster is in the Hugo Chavez school of promoting free discussion. All who do not agree with him are unpatriotic losers. I evaluate the nipster is off his meds and I think he is the only one writing positive blogs about his eyesore rip-off hotel in one of the ugliest parts of the Boro. viva Le Bleu. The go stand makes this hotel a great launch pad to see the rest of new york create it and they will come determine it high and they will think it is worth it. There is a market for rooms come brownstone Brooklyn. Mr Nipper. 10:48 here you sure are a witty one. I was not 'protecting the tourists' (why that is strange to you I can't really figure out) if you evaluate that means I am not a native-Brooklynite guess again. Born and raised here. I just experience that this photo above is sure as hell not on their promotional material. go on buddy look at the conceive of. It's like a diamond ring placed on a bed of dog sh*t. Tell me honestly would you be there for that kind of money? Oh and yeah telling others to 'nip it' that's really comical. Who died and made you "The Nipper"? 5:11. The hotel is sitting in dogshit because that's they way it is with these Brooklyn brownstone neighborhoods. They are islands of sanctuary immediately surrounded by egest. As others have pointed out on this go this location that everybody hates so much is practically within snowball-throwing distance to prime Park Slope.

"Brooklyn's Fourth Avenue as 'the Next Park Ave.'?" posted by ~Ray

Brooklyn's Fourth Avenue as 'the Next Park Ave.'? Tuesday. December 11. 2007 by Robert First come things desire and the. Then come the comparisons of Fourth Avenue to... Park Avenue. This analogy comes from Le Bleu owner Joe Tonacchio who tells the "Mark my words within five years Fourth Ave ordain be the next Park Ave." This is either the kind of thing that in retrospect ordain look visionary or well a little bit of a stretch. "Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-11 20:41:42

We are preparing a feast in recognise of my late care before the bring forth of our first child and want to alter some of her favorite foods. Mom gravitated towards the heavier dishes of the 60s.. chicken cordon bleu beef stroganoff cut onion soup etc. Does anyone have a good chicken cordon bleu recipe they can overlap or can you tell me where to sight one? If the cookbook is a classic. I could get it out of the library. I'd like to find one that is baked not fried. I also bequeath her incorporating wine into the cater though I'm not sure how one would do that w/o making the chicken soggy? I'm thinking of making w/ the french onion dope from Julia's Way To Cook. comfort need to think of a suitable dessert. Also if these dishes insipre a menu do overlap! I'm still figuring it out! Try searching on the Cooking lighten website. Here's a cerebrate to a baked chicken cordon bleu that I've tried. I made a few changes like using swiss instead of mozzarella and not pouring the broth mixture over the pieces at the end. It seemed that would have washed the crumb mixture off. You could also try to use wine instead of the broth. Another resource is the Joy of Cooking. I have an older edition and used it to compare with the Cooking lighten version. Best of luck! Pound out boneless chicken breasts to 1/4 inch thick. Lay on slice of ham and slice of swiss. turn up and dip in... move and Bake. Yes. I said it. It's good and very 60's. Nosey... this was the claim thing I was going to say! Panko is great and it ordain get crunchy in the oven. I use panko crumbs for anything I can! Used them on salmon coated with wasabi mayo and panko crumbs measure night for 12 people and they all loved it!
